A simple but powerful book about believing in yourself – and being patient. Leo can’t read...yet. Leo can’t talk…yet.

Debrief Ideas:
- Why was Leo’s father worried?
- Have you ever been worried about not being able to do what you want to do?
- Introduce the word yet…then ask – What ‘yets’ do you have? (For example…I can’t do a cartwheel…yet.)
- The younger the group, the more likely the ‘yets’ will be a little more on the improbable side – “I haven’t been to the moon…yet!” Don’t discourage them, they’re just little ones. (Of course, don’t accidentally encourage anything unsafe…namely, ‘I can’t fly around like a bird…yet!’…maybe shut that one down.)
- This book resonates with children feeling inadequate. Great time to introduce words like potential, endurance, patience, and perseverance. (Which connects to Peacemakers for Life)
